Trust God And Do What YOU Can

I have heard from several sources that Christians should pray as if everything depends upon God and that they should work as if everything depends upon them. When a Christian prays for something, he should be willing to be the human instrument of God*s answer. Often God lays His will on a believer*s heart to pray for something and then lays it on that same believer*s heart act on it.

James 4:17: Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

Philippians 4:13: I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Our unbelief in God fails in two ways. It fails to trust Him when that is necessary and it fails to do what He wants us to do.

We have two kinds of problems. We have problems that God wants us to solve, directs us to solve and helps us to solve. And we have problems that only He can solve. Often we mortals neglect the problems we can solve and we try to solve problems that only He can solve. We try to turn spiritual mountains into mole-hills that we can handle. We also try to turn spiritual mole-hills into mountains. We leave things up to God that we should do ourselves. A very wise prayer would be: Lord, please give us the wisdom to know what kind of problem each one is and respond properly in faith when that is necessary and in action when that is necessary. He knows our abilities and our inabilities perfectly. He created us.

Mark 14:6: And Jesus said, Let her alone; why trouble ye her? she hath wrought a good work on me. 7 For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always. 8 She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying.

Will the Lord say of you and me He hath done what he could?
